Clear all clutter, get rid of all loose items you don’t need any more in sealed plastic bags, launder all clothing and linens at high temperatures and tumble dry any linens that cannot be washed on a high setting. Vacuum all areas that you suspect harbour bed bugs and get rid of the resulting dirt in a sealed plastic bag. Then carry out the heat treatment, either with a steam cleaner or by a professional exterminator. Lastly spray with pesticides designed for the eradication of bed bugs. One last step you can do is seal up and holes etc where bed bugs may live with sealant.

This treatment may have to be repeated more than once depending on the severity of the bed bug infestation.
